In the PHS Polymer Technology class we cover alot of areas dealing with polymers:
- Computer Aided Design-a 40 day module where the student learns using auto cad lite, a detailed project is completed by each student
CAD
- Computer Aided Manufacturing-a module where the student learns using Master Cam software, a project of a chess pawn is completed by each student
CAM
- Solids Module-a module where the student works different experiments, several projects are completed by each student
SM
- Composites Module-a module where the student works different experiments, several projects are completed by each student
CM
- Polymer Module-a module where the student works different experiments, several projects are completed by each student
PM
- Research the Web-students are given different topics to research the web and do a presentation on the topic
R-T-W
- School to Works-the second year students go to six different companies and work 2 days a week for a total of 100 hours, each student will work at each of the six companies
S-T-W
- Injection Molding-the second year students will operate,change molds, and service the injection molding machine
Molding
- Teaching Unit-the second year students will develop(using SPE's Fantastic Plastics Factory) and teach all 4th graders a unit(4 lessons) on polymers
