Ethyleneoxide
Highly reactive epoxide monomer for making the polyether
polyethyleneoxide that is both water- and organic-soluble.
Polyethyleneoxide (PEO) is also called poly(ethylene glycol), PEG for short, with lower MW.
Both find use in biomaterials, cosmetics, coatings, contact lenses and many other areas.
Ethyleneoxide also reacts with methacrylic acid to form HEMA, hydroxyethyl methacrylate.
