This cartoon shows a worker harvesting rubber from a rubber tree on a rubber plantation. The sloped cut in the tree's bark funnels the rubber latex into a small cup. This technique was first used in ancient times to harvest wild rubber in the Americas, and is still used on rubber plantations today.
