WHAT IS FILM MADE OF?
POLYMERS IN FILM HISTORY
POLYMERS IN FILMMAKING
POLYMERS IN SPECIAL EFFECTS
POLYMERS AT THE MOVIES
Thanks for joining us here at the movies. But this isn't just any movie theater. Here at the Macroplex Cinema 10 you can learn what polymers go into film and film making. And what about the polymers in history that made film what it is today? We even have a section on the use of polymers in special effects. We'll even show you what special effects can be made with stuff at home.

And what about the polymers that are literally AT the movies. We'd like to show you where polymers can be found at the theater. Just check out this neat carpet we have in our lobby. Look, right down there under all this stuff you're reading. That's made of polymers too. And how about the polymers that are in that butter on your favorite popcorn or that sticky stuff on the theater floor...? Just kidding.

From the concession stand to the projection booth, the movies are loaded with great polymers, some common and some pretty special. So come see what polymers are in your favorite movies!

NOW PLAYING!
Here are some of our current releases. These links will take you to other sections of our website with explanations of some of our most beloved polymers.

It came from Polystyrene! Millions of Styrofoam® cups crash to earth each day. Find out why they are here! And learn what other popular objects are made from polystyrene! Captain Kevlar Kevlar® saves many lives every year. Did you realize that it is a part of the nylon family?
Is there really a polymer matrix and what is it? Find out the truth about polymer composite materials! The Polymer Matrix What mind could compose such great molecules as those in parachutes and pantyhose? We may never know, but here is a provocative look into how it might have happened. Aramidus
The Chian that Wouldn't Die Did you know that some polyvinyls will go on producing a chain indefinitely? If only the monomers run out in time, then the world might be saved from the endless chain! Saving Private Rayon Rayon used to be made of flammable cellulose nitrate, now it is made of other forms of cellulose.
