Sensors
    Of late there is a need for reliable, sensitive, and precise analytical sensors for uses in medicine, industry and in monitoring environmental processess.  Immunochemical methods afford high selectivity and when coupled to sensitive measurement systems such as voltammetric techniques a superiour sensing device is achieved.

    One route to such devices is the use of biological material/ polymer composites.  Essentially a polymeric material acts as a resevoir of a biological material while serving as a transducer simultaneously.  The general schematic of such a material is shown below.
