Procedure:
- Put on goggles.
- Measure out the white glue and pour it into a small cup.
- Observe the glue. What does it feel like? smell like? look like?
- Measure out the water and add it to the glue in the cup. Stir with a wooden stick. Repeat your observations.
- Add a drop or two of the food coloring that corresponds to the color of your recipe card to the glue mixture and stir.
- Measure out the borax solution. Get someone to help you so you can stir with the wooden stick as the borax (cross-linker) is added to the glue solution.
- Once the GLUEP is formed, remove it from the cup and knead it for several minutes. Repeat your observations.
- Compare your product with those made using other recipes.
- Roll the GLUEP into a ball and set it in the palm of your hand. Does the ball keep its shape?
- Drop a ball of GLUEP onto a clean table top. Does it bounce? How quickly does it spread out?
- Record all your observations.
- Store GLUEP in a plastic bag and discard in trash when finished with it. It will stain funiture and carpeting.
