Proposed Project
We propose three levels of activities focused around Paul Lemur. Each of these is developed in more detail in individual sections that follow. Together they offer enormous potential for increasing understanding of polymers among the younger members of our culture, people who will become the doctors, scientists, teachers and leaders of tomorrow. We propose:
- Development of website materials such as those seen at www.psrc.usm.edu/macrog/paul, but expanded to include location of Paul in various pages throughout our existing education resource material (Macrogalleria) but with content appropriate for K-12 levels.
- Contests and games, which will include a drawing/coloring contest for younger students and a "Where's Paul" game that involves searching the Macrogalleria and other education material at the Polymer Science Learning Center for Paul links and associations.
- One coloring book and two story books aimed at the K-4 level and at the middle school level, respectively. These books will be richly illustrated with Paul figures and drawings, and will provide story lines that students should find both interesting and educational.
