Vinyl Acetate
Monomer for the vinyl polymer, PVAc, which is hydrolysed to poly(vinyl alcohol).
Poly(vinyl acetate) has limited use as is, but partial hydrolysis in water gives the polymer that "white glue" is made of.
Full hydrolysis to the alcohol gives us poly(vinyl alcohol), a water-soluble and biocompatible material used in lots of stuff.
